The NJSOP Team
Mrs. Boertzel-Smith joined the NJSOP in January 2022. She comes to the NJSOP from the New Jersey Psychological Association (NJPA) where she worked since 2011 and served as Executive Director of NJPA, NJPA Foundation and the New Jersey Psychology - Political Action Committee since 2015. Her past experience also includes serving as Associate Counsel with the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission, where she investigated and prosecuted statewide allegations of attorney misconduct
Director of Communications
Ms. Van Hise became a part of the NJSOP family in September 2008, following her move to New Jersey from central New York. On par with her love of writing and knack for bringing people together, she manages both the media relations and internal communications programs for the Association. If it has to do with communications, Katie has a hand in it.
Associate Executive Director
Ms. Kais joined the NJSOP staff in June 1986 as Executive Secretary and has held the positions of Director of Education and most recently in January 2020, Associate Executive Director. She is responsible for office management, meeting and seminar management and educational grant procurement, and works closely with the Executive Director to chart NJSOP's future growth. She serves as staff liaison to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Member Recruitment & Benefits Center, Clinical Care Center, and the Dr. Richard J. Favreau Health Foundation. Ms. Kais also serves as an Officer on the Dr. Leslie Mintz Scholarship Foundation Board of Trustees.
Ms. McKinney joined the NJSOP staff in December of 2006 as a temporary Administrative Assistant. During that time she focused her attention on the Oral Pharmaceutical Course and helped process the 500+ registrations and phone calls. Her enthusiasm and competency was valued so much that she was asked to join the team as a permanent full time employee in January 2007.
