About the Presenters

Diane Adamczyk, OD, FAAO, FNAP

Dr. Diane Adamczyk is a Professor and the Director of Residency Education at SUNY, College of Optometry. She received her optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and completed her residency at the Newington Veterans Administration Hospital. In addition to her administrative responsibilities at SUNY, Dr. Adamczyk is the instructor of record for the ocular
pharmacology course. She also sees patients and supervises students in the University Eye Center. Dr. Adamczyk lectures nationally and internationally and has written articles, chapters and coauthored the textbook, Primary EyeCare in Systemic Disease.

She is the former chair of the American Optometric Association’s Evidence Based Optometry Committee, which is responsible for writing Optometry’s evidence based clinical practice guidelines. She is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, is an American Board of Optometry Diplomate and currently on its Board. Dr. Adamczyk has received numerous recognitions, including the American Optometric Association President’s Award, New Jersey Optometric Society of Physicians’ Scientific Achievement Award and PCO’s Alumna of the Year.

 

Nicky Despotidis, OD, FCOVD, FAAO

Dr. Nicky Despotidis has a multi-disciplinary practice in Hamilton, NJ, that offers a variety of specialty services including vision rehabilitation, treatment of vision-related learning problems, and specialty contact lenses. He graduated with honors from The State College of Optometry in New York and later completed residency in Vision Therapy/Pediatric Vision. Dr. Despotidis is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (FAAOMC) and is a Board-Certified Fellow in Vision Therapy (FCOVD) with the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. 

Dr. Despotidis has published papers in optometric journals, is a frequent lecturer, and book author. He is the lead author of the book, My Children are Nearsighted Too and his practice management workshop, Super Charge Your Practice, is one of the most highly attended workshops offered at the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control annual symposium. 

 

Tamara Petrosyan, OD

Dr. Tamara Petrosyan is an associate clinical professor at SUNY College of Optometry in the Primary Care, Ocular Disease, Pediatrics, and Vision Therapy departments. She lectures internationally and has published articles and book chapters on various topics. Dr. Petrosyan helped implement free pediatric exams for over 30,000 children through the Armenian Eyecare Project. She has developed over a dozen vision therapy workbooks, as well as, assisted with the start and development of the vision therapy content for Anteo Health.

She is the InfantSEE liaison for New Jersey, head of the Clinical Care Committees for Pediatrics and Vision Therapy, and previously served on the NJSOP Board of Directors. Dr. Petrosyan has received the Young Optometrist of the Year and Optometrist of the Year from NJSOP and the Young Optometrist of the Year award from the AOA.

NJSOP CE Event Registration Refund Policy

 
In the event an NJSOP continuing education event attendee wishes to rescind their event registration, refunds may be requested through email or by mail to NJSOP. Refund requests received at least 30 days before the event will receive a full refund. Requests made 14-29 days before the event will receive a 50% refund. Refunds will not be issued within 14 days of the event. However, registered attendees who experience an extenuating circumstance that prevents them from attending the event can request refund consideration via email or by mail. Refunds will be provided in the manner in which the registered attendee paid.
