Managed Care Seminar

Creating a Tech-Savvy and Patient-Focused Vision Care Office: Best Practices to Adopt

**Exhibit information available here**

The Managed Care Seminar is a full-day meeting with a practice management and practice development focus. Optometrists now face both the challenges of the public health emergency and high inflation. It is critical to examine daily operations, cash flow sources and outflows, and to potentially develop new lines of business to advance the practice in the coming year. We like to present to our audience new voices and fresh perspectives on themes of importance to all doctors. As such, we have assembled an extraordinary lineup of speakers for this seminar:

We have invited Christopher Kuc, OD who operates the Medical Optometry America practice in Newtown Square, PA to speak on dry eye diagnostics and treatment approaches he uses everyday in his office. He will discuss the training and instrumentation needed for successful implementation along with billing considerations as well as office administration and marketing of new products and services. He will also speak on the emerging use of retinal diagnostic testing (OCT and OCT-A) in the identification and management of persons suffering from neurodegenerative diseases such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's and dementia. This approach enables collaboration with neurology and can distinguish the practice from others.

Practice management consultant, Steve Vargo, OD, MBA will speak to the audience about effective communication skills as they relate to the execution of a treatment plan or the purchase of high-performance eyewear. Dr. Vargo will also ask the audience to critically examine their day-to-day operations and payer mix.

Internist and educator, David Kountz, MD, MBA will speak to our audience about health disparities among our resident populations and how sensitivity to the social determinants of health and cultural differences may impact our treatment recommendations and health outcomes.

Finally, attorney James Schragger will share new information about HIPAA and privacy concerns, medical information sharing, as well as new activity from the Department of Justice concerning patient referrals and anti-kickback compliance.

We look forward to seeing you on December 14that Battleground Country Club in Manalapan, NJ!
