Vision Awareness Badge now available to Girl Scouts AND Boy Scouts!

In February, 2018 Marietta Richman, a Para-optometric member of NJSOP and the AOA, as well as a Girl Scout Gold Award Recipient and Pre-Optometry college student launched the Girl Scout Vision Awareness Program in New Jersey. We are proud to announce the badge is now available to both Girl Scouts AND Boy Scouts!

In order to earn the patch scouts must learn more about eye and vision health by either visiting an optometrist's office or having an optometrist attend one of their meetings. As such, the NJSOP Board of Directors has agreed to support this initiative and the NJSOP Find-A-Doc tool will be publicized as the means through which interested scouts/troop leaders can locate a near by optometrist.  NJSOP MEMBERS CAN FIND MORE INFORMATION HERE.

If you're a Girl Scout or Boy Scout looking for an optometric physician in your area, use our doctor locator here!
